Daicia R. Price

Clinical Associate Professor of Social Work, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Director

Dr. Daicia Price is a clinical assistant professor of social work at University of Michigan School of School Work. Prior to joining the faculty at U-M, Price served as Clinical Practice Improvement Specialist in Wayne County with a focus on workforce development and implementation of evidence-based, best and promising behavioral health practices.

She earned her BSW, MSW and PhD from Eastern Michigan University. Price has gained clinical and macro practice experience in juvenile justice, community mental health, housing, schools and foster care.

As a Mental Health First Aid and Question, Persuade, Refer Instructor, Price is committed to sharing her personal and professional experiences and knowledge to support others.

Price engages with the community to disrupt and dismantle racism and oppression using a bioecological system and African centered framework.

As a professional, Price is committed to incorporating various strategies that will aid to the mission of reaching out, raising hope and changing society.

Ronda L. Halsey

SSW DEI Program Manager

Ronda Halsey transitioned to the School of Social Work from Avalon Housing, a supportive housing organization that utilizes a housing-first model. Halsey obtained her BSW from Eastern Michigan University and gained experience in the field of social work during her time at Avalon by serving in various roles including Residential Support Specialist, case management, program management and property management. She also co-facilitated Avalon's Black, Indigenous, and People of Color affinity group and gained knowledge of equitable practices through the NEW Center Champions for Change Leaders of Color Cohort in 2020. Halsey is a passionate advocate for social change and a DEI champion. As a program manager in the School of Social Work’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, she is motivated to be a catalyst and support system for students, faculty and staff to cultivate a conscious community where every person feels affirmed, respected, valued and appreciated.

Callie B. Torkelson

SSW DEI Program Manager

As a Program Manager, Torkelson works collaboratively with the school's dedicated staff, students and faculty to implement activities of the DEI 2.0 initiative to enhance diversity, equity and inclusion within the School of Social Work. Before joining the DEI team, Torkelson worked in the school's Development and Alumni Relations Office and the Office of Student Services. As a proud SSW alumni and a passionate student affairs professional, Torkelson is excited to be a part of such a great team dedicated to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.
