Health and Wellness

• Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
  Student Life’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides confidential mental health services for currently enrolled U-M students in an atmosphere that is welcoming, comfortable, accessible, and multiculturally sensitive. Support options range from in-person to virtual and include 24/7 crisis support via CAPS After Hours.
• Dean of Students Office
  The Dean of Students Office (DOS) is a central place for students, parents, faculty, and staff to seek assistance in navigating the complex issues of campus life. The critical incident response and student support case management team provide direct support to students experiencing any concern that is impacting their Michigan experience, including academic, financial, or physical/mental health concerns as well as crisis/emergency situations, basic needs, and off-campus housing issues.
• Insurance for Students
  The University of Michigan offers health insurance plans for domestic and international students. MSW students should also review liability and auto insurance information.
• Resources for Students with Children
  The School of Social work lists resources and information for students who are managing parent/elder care, study, and work.
• Sexual Assault Prevention & Awareness Center (SAPAC)
  Student Life’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center (SAPAC) promotes healthy relationships, teaches non-violence and equality, supports survivor healing, and fosters a respectful and safe environment for all members of the University of Michigan community.
• Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct Reporting and Resources
  U-M's Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct Reporting and Resources website provides information on how to report sexual and gender-based misconduct to the university and/or to law enforcement, and about how the university handles the reports it receives.
• Stress Management Resources
  The University Health Service (UHS) provides a collection of local and national stress management, health, and depression resources.
• Student Veteran & Military Services
  Veteran and Military Services helps students make the transition from active military duty to U-M and from U-M to active military duty.
• University Health Service (UHS)
  Student Life’s University Health Service (UHS) serves as an on-campus, comprehensive student health care resource, where most services for currently enrolled students are covered by fees already included with tuition. Students can send prescriptions for easy pickup on campus to the UHS pharmacy and see physicians, specialists, and clinicians right on campus, between classes.
• Wolverine Wellness
  Wolverine Wellness nurtures a healthy campus community with coaching and educational programs on wellness, tobacco cessation, safer sex, alcohol and drugs, healthy eating and body image, and much more.
• Wolverine Support Network
  The Wolverine Support Network (WSN) is a student-led peer support program designed to empower students to create a safe community in support of mental wellbeing and identity development. The groups meet weekly and provide a place to discuss day-to-day stressors, build trust and connect with students from across campus.

Financial and Food Assistance

• Student Emergency Funds
  Students sometimes experience unusual, unforeseen expenses while in school, and the University of Michigan offers several types of assistance for students in such special circumstances. School of Social Work students may contact the Office of Student Services and Enrollment Management (ssw.msw.info@umich.edu) for assistance and/or learn more about applying for student emergency funds here.
• Maize and Blue Cupboard
  The Maize and Blue Cupboard is a student organization providing locally sourced food to ensure members of the University of Michigan community receive equitable access to healthy, nutritious, and nourishing food and the ability to prepare it for themselves or others.

• Inclusive Campus Resources
  Student Life's Inclusive Campus Resources offer you many ways to find connection, community, learning, social justice, and space to support a diverse campus community.
• International Center
  Student Life’s International Center (IC) serves U-M's international student, faculty, scholar, and staff population, facilitates intercultural and international education, and fosters a global campus community at the University of Michigan and beyond. The IC is also the university's central source of advice and counsel on U.S. immigration regulations and compliance.
• Spectrum Center
  Student Life’s Spectrum Center is a collaborative space in which all members of the university and local community are welcome. Through collaboration and partnership efforts, the Center supports students to thrive in a diverse society and globally. The center works toward enhancing the campus climate and support services for LGBTQ+ students, staff, and faculty at the university through education, advocacy, and community building.
• Student Accessibility and Accommodation Services (SAAS)
  Student Accessibility and Accommodation Services (SAAS) at the University of Michigan include Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD), the U-M Adaptive Sports & Fitness Program, and the Testing Accommodation Centers (TAC).
• Trotter Multicultural Center
  The William Monroe Trotter Multicultural Center (TMC) promotes a campus and community where all students can prosper academically and socially and can develop a better understanding and appreciation for multicultural diversity at U-M. TMC hosts and sponsors many events and programs, including those focused on social identity connection, health and wellness, and heritage and culture.

  The Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) provides news, crime reports, and information regarding public safety and security at U-M.
• Emergency Preparedness
  DPSS provides information and resources about U-M's emergency and disaster preparedness measures.

Dispute Resolution

• Office of Student Conflict Resolution (OSCR)
  The Office of Student Conflict Resolution provides a variety of programs and services designed to support a safe, just, and peaceful campus community by helping U-M students learn how to manage and resolve conflicts.
• Office of the Ombuds
  The Student Ombuds Office is a place where U-M students can bring their questions, complaints, and concerns about the university. With the Ombuds, you can have confidential discussions in a safe environment while accessing informal dispute resolution services and other resources.
• Student Legal Services (SLS)
  Student Life’s Student Legal Services (SLS) is a full-service law office providing students with legal advice and counseling on everything from housing and family law to consumer law and traffic violations. SLS also litigates cases on behalf of U-M students.
